About this Web site

This website was created for the private and non-profit use by some of the members of the Class of 1961 of the American School in Japan, Tokyo, Japan.

First the fine print:

This website of the Class of 1961 ("Website") of the American School in Japan ("ASIJ") is in no way sponsored by ASIJ, any other school, organization, group, or individual that the Website refers to. The information provided is collected from users of the Website, persons and organizations featured on the Website, and other public sources. None of the Website developers, information providers, featured persons or organizations make any guarantee to the accuracy of the information on the site. The operators of the Website will immediately remove any information on a person or organization when requested to do so by the person or organization.

The Website is intended to bring school friends together and not to verify that these persons actually attended or graduated from the school or any other school. Actual attendance and graduation of listed members is not verified and, in the case of daily attendance by some members, should be highly suspect ("...contrary to ASIJ claims, we believe there will be more JD's then [sic] college graduates in this particular class!")

Users agree that they will not harvest or collect information about the featured persons or organizations on this site or use such information for the purpose of transmitting or facilitating transmission of unsolicited bulk electronic e-mail or communications.

Privacy: Users must assume that any information that is transmitted or received may not be private. The operators of the Website do not monitor or record usage of its systems. However, the operators of the Website will fully cooperate with any authority in an investigation of illegal activity and may turn over logs and records upon receipt of proper orders. The Electronic Communications Act of 1986 and the Telecommunications Act of 1998 contain important information on privacy and confidentiality.

Now the good stuff:

This website for the Class of 1961 of the American School in Japan is really intended to bring school friends and class mates together. We encourage everyone to participate by providing information, ideas, design changes, etc. We hope to grow this website into a meaningful communication tool. Simply pass on any suggestions or information to one of the persons listed below. Please remember, however, that this information is not private.

Design & Production

The "look and feel" of the site was taken from the alumni pages of the ASIJ website. This was done without permission and we'll probably be hearing from "the suits" before too long. Other than that, blame Robert Leimena.

Supervision

Development was done under the strict, adult supervision of Florence Schick and Pam O'Neal.

For those of you who have seen a photo here that we have liberated from your web site, and haven't given you credit .. gomenasai .. contact us on the feedback page and we will correct that situation. Or, similarly, if you know of a picture on the internet that we simply have to include… tell us!

Maintenance

Whoever else wants to volunteer.
