Tokyo,
1956
(The photo was taken by a professional photographer at a
military base.)
Florence Bergt, who is now Florence Schick, recalls
that this photo was taken during a class trip to some military
base. She does not recall which one. It is kind of fun to see so
many kids that you recognize. It also shows that the families in
Tokyo were not as transient as one might imagine. You would
think that the student population of each class would turn over
every two or three years. That does not seem to have been the
case. A significant number of students in
this picture graduated from ASIJ.
Did anyone not change very much from this
picture as compared to what he/she looked liked in the senior picture? David Sassoon doesn't seem
to have changed very much. Mary and Brenda changed quite a bit,
it seems. So did Stuart, if that's really him in the top row.
Peter and Jack changed a lot too. Look at Clark Toy. Did he
change? It would be really fun to lay
pictures from this year (1956) side by side with 1961 and 2001
of each of the students for a comparison. What about Ms.
Busalacchi she would be about 70-80 years young in 2001.
Wonder what happened to her.
