THE
NEWSPAPER OF THE AMERICAN SCHOOL IN JAPAN
(1960 - 1961 version)

Front gate on a rainy day in Tokyo. This certainly brings back
memories. You can tell that this was a foreign school because we
were the only ones who had foreign (non-Japanese) cars. |
|
Many of us rode the bus. Remember how there was always a lady
conductor who stood in the stairwell and would say "hidari all right"
(which she pronounced hidali all light) when the bus made a left
turn? |

Don't know where this streetcar was. As I recall, there wasn't a
streetcar anywhere near the school.

|
I think I remember riding this train (the Meguro Line) from
Shibuya to Meguro.
