Sassoon, David

Senior memory:

Parliamentary acrobatics... "bouncy, bouncy"... Well-informed... Sassoonmobile... "You’re out of order"... the big brother... a convincing drunk.

Since then:

For the past 13 years we’ve been living in Lausanne, Switzerland (near Geneva)

“We” consists of:

two grown boys that are getting ready to leave home. Our eldest is 22 and has just finished Law school and the younger one, 21, has just finished high school and about to head off for University

my wife of 30 years, the poor thing

the usual assorted animals.

Prior to Lausanne, we’ve lived in New York City and Brussels, Belgium. It’s always been my job that caused us to move.

My first job after UC, Berkeley, (Economics) was as a management trainee for a South American mining company now part of Anglo American. After that I worked in various managerial positions for a metal trading firm now part of Cargill and for ICC Chemicals. In 1977, I set up on my own business in the same field of mining, metal trading and chemical manufacturing (in non-Japan Asia).

Over the past couple of years I’ve been winding things down a little and getting ready for the new phase where we will be without our boys.
