| Since
then:
After leaving Japan I went to Montana
State University where I majored in Industrial Engineering
and Commerce. I graduated in 1966 and joined IBM in
Princeton, NJ in computer sales. In 1969 I married
Christine who was an associate engineer at IBM and we
moved to East Brunswick, NJ. Our first daughter, Jocelyn,
was born in 1970 and our second, Jennifer, arrived in
1972. Chris quit working and devoted full time to raising
the kids and putting up with my travel schedule which kept
me on the road about 50% of the time. In 1976 I became a
product manager with IBM and we moved to Ridgefield, CT.
Chris had now become active in the school system as an
advocate for developmentally disabled children. Four years
later we move to Los Angeles where I became the HR manager
for IBM’s western region, which included California,
Utah, Arizona, Hawaii, and Guam. Great job! We returned to
Connecticut and IBM’s global headquarters in 1984 where
I held a variety of HR jobs until I retired 1998 as the
director of executive development programs.
Following my retirement from IBM I
joined People’s Bank in Bridgeport, CT as the head of HR
for their credit card company and am still there. Chris
& I recently moved to a waterfront home on Candlewood
Lake in Danbury, CT. She continues her advocacy work and
is currently on the Governor’s Advisory Council for the
Developmentally Disabled. In my spare time I am on the
board of two organizations that sponsor participants in
Special Olympics where I also coach the alpine ski team.
Jocelyn and Jennifer are both single and live near by in
Ridgefield, CT and Harrison, NY. |
