Since then:
In Memoriam
CLARK TOY (7/26/43 - 3/8/99)
It is with fondness and sadness that we
remember Clark. Some of us knew him longer than others,
since the 7th grade, but we all have many good memories of
him. He was happy, full of life, and spontaneous as a teen.
Regretfully, few of us stayed in touch with Clark after
graduation, so we know little about his adult life. From his
brother Keith (ASIJ 1967) we have learned that after
graduating from UCLA in 1966 Clark moved to Guam. He taught
school for a couple of years while selling products to the
military for his father’s company. He quit teaching when
the business expanded to include food products imported for
the local trade as well as the military. He further expanded
the business into a food wholesale business and also took
over the operation of a restaurant called the Hale Kai. Due
to some misfortunes and the Asian economic blight, Clark
experienced a business setback and lost the wholesale
business. After a devastating typhoon the restaurant was
lost also. It was during this time, while he was trying to
recover from his economic loss, that Clark died from a heart
attack. He is survived by his wife, Anna Camacho Toy, and a
son named Alan (13 in 2001). His wife and son reside in
Saipan.
